A trusted team member, loyal department head, collaborative connector, and aspiring creative producer/tastemaker, Jacob Hayman got his first paid job on set directly from the legendary Roger Corman. Eventually serving as an intern at Eclectic Pictures and Partos Co., he wrote industry-related articles for GeekNation before becoming a feature Casting Assistant to Jan Glaser, commercial Casting Coordinator for Clio winner Terry Berland, unscripted Casting Associate under Artios Award nominee Katy Wallin, and Executive Assistant to the President at Endorse Management Group.

A participant in the 2020 CSA BIPOC Alliance and 2021 HRTS Mentorship programs under Artios Award-winner Stephanie Holbrook and Wheelhouse Entertainment’s Adden Laughlin, respectively, he was asked to join the ranks of Citizen Skull as a Junior Literary Manager in late 2022.  There, he represented a developmental client roster, and created the ongoing ‘First and Third Wednesdays’ networking event six months into his tenure. Concurrently, and until the latter’s passing, he also read scripts and did research assignments for Oscar winner Fred Roos. Having closed out 2024 as a Juror for both the Austin Film Festival and ScreenCraft’s screenwriting competitions, he is currently shopping a slate of genre projects alongside producer Mark Myers.

Features for which he served as Casting Director have won ‘Feature Drama’ and ‘New Visions’ at Cinequest 2022 (Trust), as well as ‘Best Actress’ at the 2023 DTLA Film Festival (This Is Your Song) while Wine Club was nominated for ‘Best Comedy Feature’ and twice for ‘Best Actor’ at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival 2023. Additionally, he was the Production Coordinator on Katie’s Mom, which won ‘Best Fusion Feature’ at Dances With Films 2023. His short film producing debut, the body horror comedy Fudgie Freddie, screened at Beyond Fest and was nominated for ‘Best Midnight Short’ and ‘Best Actor’ at FilmQuest that very same year. His most recent casting credit, Taboo, premiered at Cinequest in 2025.

A fan of maximalist trash and minimalist beauty, he’d love to bring more silliness and heart into the world before it explodes.

He has been interviewed on Jenna Malatskey’s ‘Behind the Now’ podcast, as well as in Shoutout LA and Voyage LA.
