A recovering casting professional, Jacob has been a Literary Manager with Citizen Skull since 2023. Under their auspices, he created the twice-monthly First and Third Wednesdays networking event that same year.

Born with ASC/ADHD, and raised amidst the stucco, flight paths, and palm trees of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, Jacob never needed to travel too far to get to Hollywood, but his path has felt like a relatively long one all the same… After eschewing the notion of a college education, he served as Laemmle Theatres’ Lead Projectionist for many years, and in late 2011 began interning as an Assistant (Partos Co.) and Script Reader (Eclectic Pictures) before joining Clare Kramer’s GeekNation as a freelance writer. Somewhere between deadlines, in 2012, a personal job offer from Honorary Oscar recipient Roger Corman (The Intruder) lead to his first paid job as a Production Assistant, on Attack of the 50ft Cheerleader.

A Production Representative for Pacific Production Services by 2015, he desired a change. After months pounding the pavement in search of casting work, a two-year stint as a feature Casting Assistant under frequent Universal collaborator Jan Glaser (CSA, The Munsters) was his reward. Under her he directly cast Judson Mills in The Bobby Roberts Project and RJ Mitte in The Recall, before proudly working on an entry to the Puppet Master series alongside illustrious B-movie producer Charles Band, and another for the Death Race franchise, re-teaming him with Mr. Corman. For about a year after that, he was a Director/Producer on the live-streamed ‘Rick Shapiro News Hour’ (DromeBox) alongside the legendary comedian/poet (‘Maron’), before casting his first feature, the San Francisco-based This Is Your Song (Best Actress/Best Screenplay winner, DTLA Film Festival). In 2019, he worked at the historic Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit (Live Nation) for a bit before heading back home for an admittedly short 9-month tenure as Executive Assistant to Michael Greenwald (President, Endorse Management Group), which nonetheless lead to the signing of actors Adrian Elizondo and Zenarra James, as well as the co-creation of Endorse’s ‘Educational Acting and Business of Hollywood’ workshop series during the early days of lockdown. Riding out the remainder of 2020 in New York, he was a participant in the Casting Society of America’s BIPOC Alliance mentorship program under Artios Award winner Stephanie Holbrook (CSA, Thoroughbreds) while casting his second feature, Trust (Best Drama/New Visions winner, Cinequest).

Post-pandemic and back in Los Angeles, he served as commercial Casting Coordinator for Clio Award winner Terry Berland (CSA, ‘Invader Zim’), worked exclusively for ABC on multiple projects as an unscripted Casting Associate Producer under Artios Award nominee Katy Wallin (CSA, ‘Wipeout’), and participated in the Hollywood Radio & Television Society’s 2021 mentorship program under Adden Silverman (Director of Talent, Additive Creative Partners), before casting his third feature, Wine Club (Best Comedy Feature/2x Best Actor nominee, Smodcastle Film Festival). In 2022, he collaborated with 5SecondFilms’ own Brian Firenzi and Jon Salmon to produce Fudgie Freddie (Best Midnight Short/Best Actor nominee, FilmQuest), whose feature counterpart, Ice Cream Man, is presently being shopped around by Mr. Hayman and Mark Myers for financing.

In recompense for a pivotal meeting in his early 20s, Jacob began reading scripts and doing research assignments for Academy Award winner Fred Roos (Producer, The Godfather Part II) in July 2023, and continued until the latter’s passing the following May. To close out 2024, he will be serving as a Juror for ScreenCraft’s Drama competition and a Semifinalist judge for the Austin Film Festival’s screenwriting competition.

A fan of maximalist trash and minimalist beauty, he’d love to bring more silliness and heart into the world before it explodes.

In his spare time, he continues to pine for Detroit while enjoying more local green spaces, Robert Vince content, fire pits, bike rides, camping trips, and general tomfoolery, conversating with good folks about Life, the Universe, and Everything all the while… Forever grateful to everyone that has helped or inspired him along the way, he’d be remiss to not thank Curtis Bellenot, Juan Barajas, Matt Brown, Carlos Camacho, Araceli Colato, Michael Griffee, Deborah Hayman, Joyce Hayman, Sarah Hayman, Scott Hayman, Joe Holliday, John Hora, Masha Mitkov, Marlon Nash, Melissa Ososke, Jennifer Padilla, Sydney Palco, Ben Perry, Soozy Rios Bellenot, Brandon Robbins, Chris Rose, Elizabeth Sutcliffe, Jerry Tamkin, Judy Tamkin, Vince Toto, Chris Watson, Bennett Weisman, Dustin Wright, Gillian Wu, and Auberi Zwickel (beyond the others scattered throughout these pages), for everything along the way.

He has been interviewed by Shoutout LA, Voyage LA, and on Behind the Now (Apple, Spotify, YouTube).
